And when the questions are over? REIMAGINED

To translate a book is to rewrite it.
To photograph a book is to reimagine it.

Se…

Se eu me deitasse
Contigo,
Seríamos maiores?
Mais longos?
Mais latos?
Se eu me deitasse
Com a tua pele
Seríamos mais
Profundos?

Filme de Pele

pele
nosso milagrosamente
multifacetado
manto opaco
abraça-nos com firmeza
como um escudo protetor
da cabeça aos pés
contra uma coreografia
de danos

pele
revela em parte
a jornada do nosso corpo
do nascimento à morte
e o seu abuso
tatuado
com cicatrizes e manchas
gravado com rugas

pele
imagine fotos
antigas e recentes
seguidas
de um vídeo
escaneando
lentamente
os contornos da pele
ao longo do corpo
da cabeça aos pés

uma marca registrada e um lembrete
nada dura para sempre.

Skin Flick

skin
our miraculously
multifaceted
opaque cloak
hugs us firmly
shielding
from head to toe
against a choreography
of damages

skin
reveals in part
our body’s journey
from birth to death
and its abuse
tattooed
with scars and spots
etched with wrinkles

skin
imagine still photos
old and recent
followed
by a video shot
scanning
ever so slowly
skin’s contours
along the body
from head to toe

a hallmark and reminder
nothing endures forever.
